Digital Transformation in Business and E-Commerce
Abstract
The digital revolution of business and e-commerce has largely redefined market forces, operational effectiveness, and customer behavior. The e-commerce industry in India has seen tremendous growth, led by the increase in internet and smartphone penetration, digital payments, and government initiatives like Digital India and Startup India. This research looks into the growth of India's e-commerce market size and revenue, specifically 2014 to 2030 trends. The research also looks at the link between digital payment adoption and growth of the e-commerce industry using the Payment and Settlement Systems Statistics (RBI Bulletin, October 2024). The research also assesses the impact of government interventions on the development of digital transformation in the industry. Though growing exponentially, India's e-commerce business is confronted by regulatory uncertainties, cybersecurity threats, logistical inefficacies, and rising market competition. Based on a mix of market analysis and empirical data examination, this research offers an expansive insight into the changing e-commerce landscape of India and provides inferences regarding methods for its sustained growth.
